South Carolina employs a point system for drivers. The basics are this:
Everyone starts with 0 points on your record. If you accumulate 12 points or more, your Driver’s License will be suspended. After one year, half of the Points “fall off”. After the second year, the other 1/2 of the points fall off your record.
For example: If you’re charged with a 6-point speeding ticket on January 10, 2020, then 3 points fall off on January 10, 2021 and the other 3 points fall off on January 10, 2022. Leaving you with 0 points on January 11, 2022.
